Hello from one Rebel Rose to another,

I am super excited to write this blog. I have just joined this amazing little organization, that one day I hope will be seen by every Rebel Rose out there. You know I had a hard time finding out what I wanted to write for you guys, like this is a lot of pressure; and the amazing women I’m working with are already doing such a terrific job, I just didn’t want to let them down.
So I asked around what should I write about, what should I say to you guys? And one of my dear family members and founder of this organization gave me some ideas about family or a book review. But I wanted to go more in depth for what she said. And then another one of my amazing cousins gave me this book,
The Princess Saves Herself In This One by Amanda Lovelace.
Now can I just take the time to appreciate these two women in my life. They are so strong and just beautiful in every way, personality wise, spiritually just in every single way. I am so lucky to have grown up with them because they are just such an inspiration and just such amazing beings to be around. I am so thankful that as they grow, they take what they learn and ideas that they have and share it with me, like this book, to help me grow. They never judge anyone, but has always lend a helping hand. And this is where this book comes in.
Amanda Lovelace has delicately strung together this beautiful book, which talks about abuse, bullying, suicide, grief and a lot of pain. She covers many other sensitive topics but she also talks about love, determination, self-love, our own strengths and just empowering lines. The same cousin that gave me this book told me she is excited to read it in different times in her life, as she is going through different things, and see what more it can offer after every re-read; and that’s exactly what I think about this book.
There are some things in this book that I haven’t experienced in my life, such as heart break from the love of my life, so I won’t fully be able to understand some of the poems but that’s okay. Because I know that this book, like my cousins, are present in my life and is there to provide me with the knowledge either for healing or for strength or for anything else I might need. It had already helped me open my eyes on some things that I had gone through, such as death, loss, grief, learning to love myself, and that I “have some kind of magic” that I wasn't aware of.
Each line, each poem in this book has its own meaning and emotion behind it and for every reader it will become an entirely different story. I highly recommend this book, it’s a simple twenty to thirty minute read. After reading this book take a minute or two to see in what places this book has connected with you and how has it changed you either by making you realize a small bit of something or helped you open your eyes on a situation in your life or in the world. If you enjoyed this book, please feel comfortable to share your thoughts on what you’ve learned and or taken away from it. Also feel free to list a book that has helped you heal or that has empowered you or that you think every women or men out there should read.
If support can come from a book, from people or where ever you get it from, why don't we combine it to help each other; like this book and like my cousins who have been a source of constant support for me, taught me many things, are there for me whenever I’m in need, and just always bring out the best in me.
That’s what this organization was made for, what I wrote above and for many more reasons. Rebel Roses was made by wonderful women for wonderful women. It’s to support and to connect women in our society. It's here to give women a chance and a safe place to come together. It’s an opportunity to make friends and to either learn and or teach what we as women have to offer to each other and to the world.
Our very first event is coming up on February 9th, it’s called Dining With The Roses. It is a networking event meant for you to dress up, come out and just have fun and meet new people. There is more information about this event on another post, so go read that after this and if you have any questions about upcoming event, you can contact us either through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Snapchat or by email, we got you.
Thank you all for all your support! I can’t wait to contribute more to this community, and if you have any ideas please do let us know. Love you all and I hope you all have a great day!
Signed,
The RebelRoses
