Why Am I Like This?

Hello RebelRoses,

As the title says, why am I like this? A question which people have probably been asking since the dawn of mankind, and which has

now evolved into one of the most relatable memes of all time. You know which one I’m talking about right? The one with the guy looking into the mirror at himself with his hands questioning...you know what I’ll just attach the picture.

I’ve been asking myself this question a lot recently. Not just because it shows up on my social media pages like thirty times a day (can you tell I may be a bit obsessed), but because I find myself doing the opposite of what I want to accomplish for the day. For instance, I’ve begun to create daily goals for myself, and rather than accomplishing as many as I can, I find myself instead procrastinating by watching Netflix, or doing something else that will not further my goals, but instead bringing me back to square one.

So I ask myself the question, as I’m sure many of us do, and still haven’t exactly found the answer. As a woman asking myself this question only amplifies any feelings of disappointment I may have in myself. As women, many of us are running around waking up and getting the kids ready, going to work, exercising, maintaining a social life, the list goes on, and on, and on. Not running around, checking off tasks, etc. it can make one feel as a failure of a woman. We’re expected to do so much each and every day, to give so much of ourselves that when we don’t, well, we see ourselves in a disappointing light.

That isn’t the only factor contributing to this. There’s also the minor problem of procrastination. Before anyone starts no it’s not because I’m lazy! I mean yes I’m a bit lazy, but who isn’t? No, it’s because of perfectionism. I, like many others am a perfectionist. Nothing wrong with that, but it means when it comes time to do a task I will take however much time needed to ensure that it is near perfection (no one and nothing is perfect, we are all perfectly imperfect <3). This means I tend to then put things off, until I feel ready to tackle it, which usually leads to procrastination, and then the day is done. A rather vicious cycle it becomes.

These are just some of the factors which lead me to ask that question to myself. There are dozens if not hundreds of others that affect people everywhere, and make them question themselves. I chose this topic as our blog today, as I and many others I know are going through this right now.

Basically this is to let all you gorgeous people know that you are the way you are. Life is our biggest teacher of all, and we learn from it everyday. So why? Why am I like this? Like I said earlier there is no actual answer to this question. We are all learning as we go along, we will keep striving to better ourselves, to accomplish that which we set out to do, and to leave the world as a better place than when we entered it.

We’ll have a list of tips and tricks to keep you on track that we have found helpful over the years. In the meantime learn your worth, and don’t let anyone try to sell you beneath it. Follow us on Facebook/Instagram for sneak peeks of our upcoming events, and tell us what you think. We love you!
